When it comes to finishing your interior, you have many options. Because you have the main surface areas and a host of trim, you can both express yourself and offset and highlight your main color selection.
Consider contrasting the colors of the trim, such as baseboards, moldings against , doors and door frames against the main wall surface areas and give some thought to doing your ceilings in yet another color.

PREPARATION
To prepare for painting, you'll need to fill nail pops and small holes, caulk cracks, patch medium size holes, nail, tape and mud cracked corners, cut out and replace loose tape, taper humped joints, carve out and fill joint cracks and skim coat large damaged areas.
FINISHING
There's a few basic types of textured finishes for walls but they can go by different names: Orange Peel (also Splatter or Eggshell), Knockdown (also Skip trowel), Sand and Popcorn (also Acoustic or Cottage Cheese as a ceiling texture).
